“A 32 year old woman fell in her bathroom and hit her head on her bathroom sink. She went to the Emergency room and Emergency Room Physician told her to go home and take an over the counter pain medication. They ran tests and a brain scan and everything looked fine. They told her she had a mild concussion.

After one week of no improvement she called her own Primary Care Specialist who told her the same. She was unable to concentrate when she returned to work as an Accountant and the numbers on the pages looked like they were jumping around even though she knew her vision was fine. She also felt that when she walked she was tilting to the right side.

She reached out to Beth Adams at Manage My Medical Care who found her a specialist in concussions and also found her a Neuroopthalmologist to assess why the numbers on the page were jumping. This specialist treats vision problems of the nervous system and brain and not just from the eyes themselves. This is a specialized eye doctor who treats people who have hit their heads We also found her a physical therapist who works on vestibular issues as she was told that because of the hit to her head her balance was slightly off. Through repetitive exercises with the physical therapist and at home exercise program she was able to slowly resolve her issues and return back to work.

The important part of her recovery was that she saw the appropriate providers for her specific diagnosis/injury. Had she seen the wrong providers this situation could have been prolonged several months.”

“28 year old former professional athlete who left the sport after an injury and formally retired. Did not have a Primary Care Physician and managemymedicalcare assisted with finding one in his community that had experience working with athletes. We assisted with scheduling the appointment that worked with his calendar as well as bridging communication between the office and himself. We stayed on with him until his appointment. “
